This study set out to examine relations between the emotional intelligence and dance emotional expressiveness of ballet majoring student in university and test the effects of the former on the latter. For these purposes, the investigator selected the data of 181 ballet majoring student attending universities in the nation and analyzed them with the SPSS 22.0 program for Windows. Frequency, exploratory factor, correlation, and multiple regression analysis were conducted according to the research goals. The findings were as follows: first, a high level of relations was proven between the emotional intelligence and dance emotional expressiveness of ballet majoring student in university; second, emotional utilization under the category of emotional intelligence had effects on all the subfactors of dance emotional expressiveness; third, understanding of others' emotions under the category of emotional intelligence had impacts on meaningfulness of movements, acting ability, expressive impulse, and action of dance emotional expressiveness; and finally, emotional regulation under the category of emotional intelligence had influences on individuality of dance emotional expressiveness. These findings indicate that emotional intelligence is an important factor in the emotional expressiveness of ballet major student for their perfect technical and artistic techniques. If integrated education is provided to cultivate their emotional competency along with technique education, it will be a meaningful attempt in professional ballet education to bring up skilled professional dancers.
